Ben is Senior Director, Northeast Region at CALSTART, where he works to integrate cleaner, more efficient vehicle technologies into public and private fleets. Ben steers CALSTART’s provision of technical assistance and outreach for truck and bus fleets in Northeast states and the creation of policy and program roadmaps to accelerate zero-emission markets. Ben is Principal Investigator for Charge to Work USA, a new national workplace charging influence and implementation campaign funded by the US Department of Energy. He previously led execution of Charge to Work NY, a workplace charging incentive program supported by NYSERDA that resulted in installation of 130 Level 2 charging ports across 19 workplace sites throughout New York State. Prior to joining CALSTART, Ben led policy development and implementation activities at the New York City Mayor’s Office of Sustainability for transportation and power sector initiatives in pursuit of New York City’s goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 80% below 2005 levels by 2050. Ben holds a Master of Public Policy degree and a Master of Science degree in Energy & Resources from the University of California at Berkeley and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University.
