E.J. joined RMI in 2014 and is part of the Carbon-Free Transportation team. He leads the Battery Circular Economy Initiative (BCEI) and passenger vehicle electrification/infrastructure work at RMI. BCEI's mission is to ensure that the battery supply chain does not become the limiting factor to EV adoption, either because of technical or social reasons. E.J.'s work in the space includes evaluating the economic, social, and environmental opportunities of battery circularity, its investment needs, and the policy strategy needed to drive circularity.
