Angela has served the Saint Regis Mohawk community of Akwesasne for 29 years. Some of her successes include grants for conducting special studies, as well as completing the community's climate change adaptation plan. She was instrumental in receiving funding through the Volkswagen Settlement to install seven EV chargers, and replacing diesel vehicles with cleaner vehicles for the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino & Resort.

Angela Benedict has served on the National Tribal Air Association (NTAA) Executive Committee representing Tribes and Nations located in EPA region 2 since 2002. The mission of the NTAA is to advance air quality management policies and programs, consistent with the needs, interests and unique legal status of American Indian Tribes and Alaska Natives. Angela enjoys providing environmental education at Akwesasne's local schools and at the Akwesasne Boys & Girls Club.
