Benjamin Smith has been at the NYC Department of Transportation since 2016, working to make city streets safer, more sustainable, and more vibrant. Before Low and Zero Emission Vehicle Programs, he worked at DOT on legislative affairs at the local, state, and federal levels. Prior to NYC DOT, Ben worked in policy and communications for a local elected official, and for more than a decade at the Center for Justice Innovation, developing and evaluating community justice programs in New York City. He holds a B.A. from Haverford College and an M.P.A. from Baruch College.
