A Workshop for Governments and their Partners

The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), commonly referred to as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, will invest billions of dollars in charging infrastructure nationwide, primarily through a formula program and a discretionary grant program. Most of this funding will flow through transportation agencies that will need to quickly develop expertise in transportation electrification and charging - and this work will require new kinds and levels of partnership to succeed. By June, most states will have their initial plans nearly complete for an August 1 submission deadline - but the hard work of implementation will not begin until later in 2022.

This workshop will focus on how to make the most effective use of charging investments, including both formula and discretionary grants as well as other funding, to quickly and effectively drive electrification of personal transportation in ways that center the needs of historically underserved communities and meet or exceed the Administration’s Justice40 objectives.

Key Learning Objectives

Participants will leave this one day workshop with a better understanding of:

• The key charging use cases, and best practices for serving them
• Strategies to maximize the benefits and utilization of corridor fast charging, especially for rural and historically underserved communities
• Key partners in transportation electrification, and how to engage with them and collaborate effectively
• Where to find additional resources and assistance
